Notre Dame de la Garde, known to local citizens as the Good Mother, is a Catholic basilica in Marseille and the city's best-known symbol. The site of a popular Assumption Day pilgrimage, it is the most visited site in Marseille. It was built on the foundations of an ancient fort at the highest natural point in Marseille, a 149 m limestone outcropping on the south side of the Old Port of Marseille.

It is famous for the village where Vincent van Gogh lived for two months before his death.
Before Van Gogh died, he painted 70 paintings in this village and he painted the whole village.
Famous works are "wheatfield with crows"(까마귀나는 밀밭), Le Jardin de Daubigny"(도비니의 정원) and "La ielesia de Auvers"(오베르 성당).
There are also tombs of Vincen van Gogh and his brother Theo van Gogh and you can visit "Auberge Ravoux"(라부여관), which is called Gogh's House, and get a glimpse of his last life.
