Next to Taichung Railway Station, Cultural Heritage Park occupies a space of 5.6 acres. Previously in the Japanese-ruling era, it was Taishō Brewing Joint-stock Company, which was the largest brewery in Taiwan; later on, it’s changed to Taiwan Provincial Tobacco and Liquor Monopoly Bureau in 1957. In February in 2011, the name of Cultural Heritage Park was finalized and the park is one of the fifth Cultural Heritage Park supervised by the Ministry of Culture. Evolving from once being an old fashioned brewery, Cultural Heritage Park gradually becomes the base to actively promote the cultural and creative industries in the city.

Bali is a small town directly across the Tamsui River. It's slightly less croweded than Tamsui and offers beautiful views of the river, Tamsui and Yangmingshan Mountain (behind Tamsui), but it's otherwise similar in character and feel to Tamsui. The main attraction is the Left Bank Park, which is (strangely enough) on the left bank of the Tamsui River, or to the right as you enter Bali from the ferry terminal.
Left Bank Park is on the left bank of the Tamsui River. It is 280 M long and features Left Bank Conference Hall, Left Bank Pier and the Old Banyan Pillbox. The expansive park has a river view and it is on the Bali Left Bank Bike Trail continuum and there are plenty of places to rent a bicycle.

Since the 98th year of the Republic of China, the Bureau has been planning for hot spring foot baths, but it encountered many difficulties in the early stage, including site selection assessment, traffic circulation, pipeline design, maintenance and management, etc., and involved the application for hot spring development permits and water rights in the legal aspects; In addition, the hot spring water in this area has the characteristics of high temperature, polysediment, and acidic water quality, which is not easy to grasp and increases the difficulty of construction.
Fortunately, with the advice of experts and scholars from all sides, and the cooperation of local residents, with the cooperation of the Bureau and a third party, the first "Quanyuan Park Foot Bath Park" combining leisure and intellectuality was finally officially opened in January 100 of the Republic of China, and the "Sulfur Valley Foot Bath Park" in September 1 and the "Fuxing Park Foot Bath Park" in December 103 were also opened one after another. Regarding the construction of hot spring foot baths, it will be temporarily suspended after the opening of the above three parks one after another, so as to conserve the amount of hot spring water in the area and comply with the principle of total control of hot spring withdrawal.
"Quanyuan Park Foot Bath Pond Park" and "Fuxing Park Foot Bath Park Park" belong to the same spring source, the source temperature is about 70 degrees Celsius, the PH value is 1.5, and the spring quality is close to the green sulfur of the geothermal valley, that is, the "acid chloride sulfate spring". It is generally believed that it has a good effect on chronic skin diseases, relieves joint muscle pain, and promotes metabolism.

Historical Course of Change and Development
In 1975, after the passing of President Chiang Kai-shek, the Executive Yuan established a preparatory team to promote construction of the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall, which was completed in 1980. The park includes the Liberty Square Archway, Main Plaza, Hall, National Theater, National Concert Hall,corner cloister pavilions, and so on.
Taiwan’s democratic transition occurred in the 1990s. President Chiang Kai-shek was the national leader during an authoritarian period when many human rights violations such as the “White Terror” occurred, and the debate over his historical merits and demerits has caused fierce controversy. In 2007, the name “Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall was changed to “National Taiwan Democracy Memorial Hall,” and the characters “Impartial and Righteous” cast on the Archway were changed to “Liberty Square.” In 2008, the exhibition “Door Opens to Democracy, Wind of Freedom Blows” was held, with deconstruction of the authoritarian space as theme. Although in 2009 the Hall reverted to its original name, it has remained a place dedicated to the struggle against authoritarianism.
In 2017, the Legislative Yuan passed “The Act on Promoting Transitional Justice,” which stipulates that symbols of authoritarianism must be removed, renamed, or otherwise dealt with in order to ensure liberal democratic constitutional order, and to remember the historical lesson of human rights violation events, entering Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall into a stage of transformation.
Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park
The Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park is a Chinese-style garden that occupies 25 hectares of space. It is an important venue in the cultural landscape of Taipei City, a point of interest for tourists to visit and residents to spend leisure time.
The park itself is a diverse ecological system. A plethora of trees, shrubs, flowers, and ground cover plants fill the grounds. The foliage changes with each season, meaning the scenery of the park is ever changing.
Be sure as well to take note of all the different animals that make their homes in this space. The eco-friendly environment attracts such birds as Moorhens, Black-crowned Night Herons, Malaysian Night Herons, and Japanese White-Eyes, and cute, lively Formosan Red-bellied Tree Squirrels are also seen prancing about.

The Amei teahouse::
The Amei Teahouse is located on Shuqi Road. Its strong Japanese architectural style makes it very eye-catching. In particular, when it is rumored that the teahouse looks like the building of Yubaba in the animated picture Spirited Away of Hayao Miyazak, more and more people want to find out the truth about it.
The Amei Teahouse was originally a blacksmith shop run by Amei's grandfather who made tools for local miners. With the rise of the tourism industry in Jiufen, Amei transformed the blacksmith shop into a teahouse with her experience in teahouse operations. This spacious teahouse is the first of its kind and one of the representative buildings in Jiufen. It is located in place with great vision, and
guests can view the gorgeous mountain and sea views of Jiufen from every table. The teahouse has two wings, the east and west. The east wing is a pure teahouse where visitors can enjoy great tea. The west wing is a bar with handmade organic snacks. Under the east wing, there is a basement for small group gatherings; and on the roof, there is an open-air tea area. In the west wing, there is a group dinning area on the roof that is connected with the open-air tea area in the east wing.
The exterior of the teahouse is wrapped up by wooden walls to maintain the original flavor of Jiufen. Although Jiufen is a rainy area where wood rots easily due to the humid weather, the Amei Teahouse refurbishes the building every three years, and it is worth it according to the owner. At the Amei Teahouse, tea tasting and tea demonstration are the main services. Now, it also provides a wide variety of tea drinks and specialty snacks, and 80% of the limited handmade tea snacks are made by the house. The uniquely brewed osthumus tea wine from the house is made of pure organic ingredients. This time-consuming and labor-intensive "tea wine" integrating the aroma of tea and wine and the fragrance of osthumus is suitable for serving both hot and cold. Therefore, it is the most common order of regular customers.
