This is generally an artist enclave which consist of studios, eateries and flea markets, mostly catering to youths.
Shen Ji New Village is a dorm compound built by the Taiwan Provincial Government nearly half a century ago to accommodate employees of the auditing office. As the government restructured, the dorms were left unused for years.
With the government’s revitalization plans, the historic village is now transformed into a lively and innovative base for young entrepreneurs to start their businesses. With new dwellers, Shen Ji New Village thrives in cultural and creative industry and attracts visitors to the cluster of distinctive shops and studios. Moreover, creative marketplaces are held on weekends from time to time.

In the early years, it was a military village, and because the households were all factory workers of the 44th Arsenal of Joint Logistics, it was named Sisi South Village. With the social changes, the military village was demolished and transformed into a cultural and educational special zone, and some of the old townhouses were retained, allowing people to walk through the paths and reminisce about the past military village time.
