One of Australia’s most remarkable natural gifts, the Great Barrier Reef is blessed with the breathtaking beauty of the world’s largest coral reef. The reef contains an abundance of marine life and comprises of over 3000 individual reef systems and coral cays and literally hundreds of picturesque tropical islands with some of the worlds most beautiful sun-soaked, golden beaches. Because of its natural beauty, the Great Barrier Reef has become one of the worlds most sought after tourist destinations.
A visitor to the Great Barrier Reef can enjoy many experiences including snorkelling, scuba diving, aircraft or helicopter tours, bare boats (self-sail), glass-bottomed boat viewing, semi-submersibles and educational trips, cruise ship tours, whale watching and swimming with dolphins.
7:30am Collect your boarding pass at the counter in Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal.
8:15am board the ship. Breakfast provided (morning tea snacks, etc.)
8:30am depart for the Outside Reef. Expert diving and introductory diving briefing begins.
9:50am arrive at the first reef area. Divers will put on their gear, and snorkelers will be briefed on the reef points. Get ready to appreciate the beauty of this natural landscape!
11:15am Departs for the second reef area. Both beginner and expert divers will have the opportunity to take a second dive, and there will also be a briefing on the reef points of the snorkelers.
12:30pm A tropical buffet lunch is served in an air-conditioned room with tropical fruits and cold drinks.
1:40pm Departs for the third reef area. Snorkelers receive the best areas to snorkel once again and a guided snorkeling tour. Expert divers will be given the option to take a third dive or a second introductory dive.
2:15pm In the afternoon, tea and snacks will be served.
3:00pm All passengers will board the ship to check the final number of passengers.
3:15pm return to Cairns.
4:30pm Arrive at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal.
- What to prepare:
1. Motion sickness medicine
It is also sold on cruises, but if you are severely seasick, it is recommended to take motion sickness medicine in advance before boarding!
2. Clothing
Put on your swimsuit, simply put it on top. Rashguards or aqua shoes are not required.
However, you can wear it as needed for protection and safety from powerful UV rays.
3. Other water play basics
Sunscreen, sunglasses, beach towels, hats, waterproof packs, and more!
4. Cash
In addition to the services listed as standard on board (equipment included in the cost, food and beverages), there are also things that are sold separately on the cruise. (motion sickness medicine, additional drinks, etc.)
5. When you book an expert dive, you will receive the corresponding certificate card
6. If you do not have an underwater camera (if you have one), you can rent it.
